To strengthen our AgriFood portfolio, we are looking for a highly motivated Business Development Associate to further drive our commercial development in South America. You will be working from our headquarters in Utrecht.

The Business Development Associate plays a crucial role in identifying growth opportunities and welcoming new companies to TSS.
What will you be doing?
As a Business Development Associate, you will contribute to pre-acquisition work to expand our company's portfolio. You will be the first point of contact in the M&A acquisition process: identifying and contacting companies in the AgriFood software sector in South America.
You will seek out and contact valuable M&A prospects (who have developed an attractive business) to increase the M&A pipeline over the long term. You will have the opportunity to speak with experienced entrepreneurs and deepen your knowledge of the M&A industry in different markets and cultures.
Activities include both initiating contact (via face-to-face meetings, email, phone/video calls or other means) with potential prospects and supporting the management of relationships to ensure sufficient market coverage. Together with members of your M&A team, you will map and analyze the vertical software markets within your area of focus. Working closely with the M&A Manager (and the executive responsible for the acquisition target), you will build relationships with potential prospects. You will also be part of TSS' broader international M&A network.
The position includes:
- Expanding our database of potential M&A prospects in South America by identifying vertical market software companies (VMS) that meet our acquisition criteria.
- Initiating phone and video calls, emails and social media to identify and connect with new M&A acquisition targets.
- Attending trade shows and industry events to connect with potential M&A prospects.

- Timely follow-up on inbound and outbound prospect activities.
- Direct contact with the company (primarily via phone, video calls and in-person contact) to qualify leads.
- Document meetings and interactions in the form of notes and manage actions in Salesforce (our CRM system).

The ideal candidate is presentable and has excellent communication skills, a strong network in the region, and financial knowledge and strong analytical skills are a plus. You enjoy communicating with experienced entrepreneurs and CEOs of AgriFood Software companies. We are looking for someone with an entrepreneurial and proactive mindset, but also with a methodical approach.

- Sales skills and affinity for sales, able to connect with senior executives at target companies who do not know our company.
- Interest in, and preferably knowledge of, finance and IT.

- Able to write professional emails in English, Spanish and Portuguese, and good telephone skills.

- Research experience (online).
